Question: study alone or in a group
Your score stops at 5 for one reason: you wrote about one side only . Good grammar cannot fix this.
Nowadays many students are confused about the best way to study. Some people think that studying in a group is the best method, and other people prefer to study alone.1
Group study is best because you can share the ideas and it is boring to study alone.2 When we study in group we can ask doubts and friends help us and we can also enjoy and time pass fast and we learn more so it is good.3 Also in a group there are many people so many ideas come and this is very useful for the students because they can learn many things from each other.4
Another advantage of group study is motivation. If my friend is studying then I also feel that I should study. So the group gives energy to everyone and nobody feels lazy.
Studying alone is also there but I think group is better.5
In my opinion both are good and also not good it depends on the person and the subject and many other things.6 So students should choose what they like.
Your first paragraph names both sides clearly. The reader knows what the essay is about. Keep doing this.
"Boring" is a feeling, not a reason. And you say studying alone is bad without explaining why.
Group study can be useful because students share ideas, and it is boring to study alone but studying alone also helps you concentrate.
This is one sentence with five ideas in it. The reader loses your point. Cut it into two.
In a group, students can ask questions and get quick help from friends. This and we can also enjoy and time pass fast and we learn more so it is good makes difficult topics easier to understand.
You already said this in sentence 3. Saying it again with different words does not add anything. Use this space for the other side instead.
This is your only sentence about studying alone. The question asks about two sides, so this side needs a full paragraph with reasons and an example.
Studying alone has advantages too. You can work at your own speed, and it is easier to concentrate on difficult reading.
"Both are good and also not good" does not tell the reader what you think. Say which one you prefer, and when.
In my opinion, group study is good and also not good better for subjects with a lot of discussion, and studying alone is better when you need to concentrate.
What to do next time
- Write one full paragraph about studying alone. Give two reasons and one example.
- Say your opinion clearly in the first paragraph and again in the last paragraph.
- Cut every sentence that is longer than two lines into two sentences.
Do numbers 1 and 2 and your answer to the question moves from 5 to 6.

We use AI, but the AI does not decide what good writing is. Teachers wrote the rules. Then they tested the rules and made them better. So the AI follows a teacher's rules, not its own idea about your English.
The four things we check
Why students lose marks.
Many students think the problem is difficult words. Usually the problem is something else. IELTS checks four things.
1. Did you answer the question?
This is the most common problem. Some questions ask about two sides. If you write about one side only, you lose marks. You also lose marks if you never say what you think. Good grammar cannot fix this.
2. Is your writing easy to follow?
Every paragraph needs a new idea. If you say the same idea again with different words, it does not help you. The reader wants your ideas to move forward, step by step.
3. Do you use the right words?
You do not need difficult words. You need correct words. A difficult word used in the wrong way costs you more marks than an easy word used in the right way.
4. Is your grammar clear?
Long sentences are a problem when they never stop. Small mistakes are also a problem when you make them again and again. Short, correct sentences are better than long, difficult ones.
